ISU’s Homeland Security and Emergency Management degree programs offer a blended program that integrates security studies and emergency management principles. The program builds graduate competencies to deter intentional acts of terror and mitigate the impacts of other hazards and pandemics that threaten the United States. Program Details

At A Glance

  • General education courses do not have to be completed before enrollment in Homeland Security and Emergency Management courses.
  • All Homeland Security and Emergency Management core and non-core courses are taught online.
  • Courses will be taught online asynchronously using Moodle (and possibly Zoom).

Program Requirements

  • Students must complete 38 credits of general education courses to satisfy the degree requirements.
  • Students will need a computer that has 20 MB of free disk space, a soundcard with speakers, a microphone or headset, and at least a 28.8 kbps internet connection.

NOTE: Because the HSEM Program is online, All Students will pay in-state tuition, regardless of residency
